Q. which Areas of Sligo Do You Cover for Home Callout?

A. We callout to homes in Sligo Town and Immediate Surrounding Areas but can consider some out of SligoTown areas also, give us a call to discuss where you are there just may be higher callout charges involved and you may have to wait a bit longer until we have the time to get out to the area you live in if you if you live outside Sligo Town.

Q. Why do you charge extra for out of Sligo town area?

A. It is roughly 13 Miles from our premises to Sligo Town. We have to battle through Sligo Town traffic and it means it can be longer travelling Time when we should be repairing PC's!! and its also surprising how much more petrol is used and the wear and tear on the vehicle that occurs with the extra mileage.

Q. Why do you charge extra If I pay By Cheque.

A. we prefer to receive cash rather than Cheques. when paid by cheques
we have to make time to go down to the bank to pay them in or cash them.
So its not too convenient for us to receive cheques.
However we normally waive the surcharge if the cheque totals to over 50.00 Euro

Q. How many sugars do you have in your Tea?

A. 2 sugars Please and plenty of milk, I like it weak please. If you have any Biscuits as well that will be nice.
It can get quite thirsty work repairing PC's and its nice to be offered refreshments when out repairing!!

Q. Why do you need me to hang around when your repairing my PC?

A. Well, loads of reasons really. I might need to ask you questions related to your PC, I might need you to find the original CD Rom's that came with your PC if they need reloading, I might need to give you news if your PC needs any spares, I might need to get other information off you like passwords, I also need to check your PC is working fine with you before I leave, and also I might just need someone to chat to to help the time go quicker whilst I am repairing your PC :-) - or someone around to make me a cup of tea! :-)

Q. Why wont you callout to Businesses Why only Home Callouts?

A. Well, its true we mainly only callout to Home PC's but we still do the odd Business PC. With Home callouts I can easily park outside the house which is handy because I might have to take a couple of trips in and out to my vehicle to get tools etc.. and by parking outside house I dont have to buy Parking Discs and try and try to find Parking Places. Increasingly Business PC's are mostly Networked up to other PC's these days and we dont support Networked PC Repair (much more complicated and involved than Home PC's) and some Businesses also require to open up a monthly account And we require to be paid on the spot for the repairs and we prefer payment in cash as its sometimes awkward to get out to the bank to cash cheques and also we do not deal with monthly business accounts.

I much prefer to do Home callouts its a much more relaxed and friendly enviroment and I normally get a Cup of Tea and some Biscuits -

To qualify for a callout for a business/commercial or shop:

I need to be able to park right outside premises with no parking tickets or car parking charges to pay

Computer must have either Windows XP Home Edition or Vista Home Basic/ Home Premium and all
Standard PC software and no Business packages or Business specific software

Computer shall not be networked up with other PC's on the premises

The Person who normally operates the PC should be available at time of callout

Computer should be availble to be taken away should needs be and then dropped back up to a week later

Payment preferred is Cash on the spot as with cheques we have to get down the bank to cash them

You will receive a Receipt but we cannot supply VAT Receipts as we are registered for Incom Tax but not registered for VAT

We dont do Credit or Monthly Accounts

Callouts may be out of the normal hours of 9am -5pm and could be lunchtime and could be on Saturdays which may not suit Businesses

If you want us to callout for a Business PC repair and the above doesnt affect you then we should be able to help you out However if you wish to get your Business PC repaired you can contact specialists in Sligo Town who have been repairing Businesses for years and should be more tailored to your needs:

Compupac (Tel: 071 9158700 )
or

Q. How Many days Do You Work?

A. I mostly callout to homes 6 Days a Week Mon-Sat - The only days I have off normally are Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Q. Why would you rather I phoned you in the Daytime? -Why cant I get you evenings and weekends?

A. I know some people prefer to phone me in the evenings and weekends and on Sunday and I can understand why especially if they are at work all day and thats the only time they can get to call the only thing is that I enjoy my job normally but I do have to have some time off to rest and recouperate and if I am forever answering calls in the evenings and on Sundays
then that takes a large chunk out of my rest time!

I am just like most other people and want to relax in the evenings and weekends and do my own thing. However if you do phone at those times or you phone when I am out the phone is manned by a Telephone Answering Machine so please do leave a message. You can also send me an email at andyr@gofree.indigo.ie  if you want at those times.

Q. Why can you not call out and repair my PC after 6pm?

A. I know some people prefer to have me repair their PC in the evenings especially if they are at work all day and thats the only time they can be at home and I quite understand that, the only thing is that some repairs could take up to 3 hours. If I am out and about in your area around that time it may be a different story I might be able to call in. If it is a bit of a problem getting to be at home in the week daytime maybe if you Speak nicely to your boss they may let you have a couple of hours off work? Also dont forget I also work Saturday's too if it suits you better.

Q. Can you call out to our school and repair our PC?

A. Please read above section where it says "Why wont you callout to Businesses"

Q. Do you Repair Apple mac PC's?

A. No, sorry I am not experienced at all in the repair of Apple Mac PC's and have no desire to even start learning about the repair of Mac's - it' PC's Windows XP & Vista all the way!

Q. Why Dont You Keep A Lot Of Spares In Stock?

A. Loads of reasons really. To help keep costs down because it would cost a lot to order in loads of items for stock. We dont have the storage facility to hold a lot of stock. PC Parts can get outdated very quickly so its not viable for me to keep in large amounts of PC items. We can get most parts delivered on Next Day Delivery from our Suppliers.

Q. Do I Have to Buy A Complete PC System?

A. We no longer Build PC's as we used to years ago - now we Source DELL PC's
Dell (www.dell.ie) do supply PC Systems without monitors now
to keep the cost down of a new PC system.
In most cases your present monitor will fit a new PC fine.

To keep costs down even further you can order your PC directly from DELL Ireland
and we can come out and set it up for you and transfer files from your old PC onto your new PC
